Lauren is a North Carolina based artist from Hillsborough. Since graduating from East Carolina University in 2005, she has continued her journey with mixed media and collage, showing at local galleries and shops. With a strong eye for color, she often combines paint and mixed media as a base, blurring the lines between real and surrealistic compositions to create a visual conversation, allowing all the layers to work together. Most recent work has also included 3-D elements for texture and abstract visual. Other work also includes watercolor and digital design.

 

After the passing of her father in December of 2014, he became her guide in her growth. He himself was a master craftsman in woodworking, his many health issues never stopping his own work and heartfelt demeanor. With his encouragement and her family, she continues to explore her artwork, letting spirituality, dreams and emotions influence her unique imagination and finding her artistic voice.
